Windows 8 has the ability to check for any new updates. By default, this will be done once per day. But, besides this default nature, we are also able to update the Windows 8 manually by checking for available updates and easily install new updates.
So, now I will show you the procedure needed to check for new updates for Windows 8 and install them.

You need to be connected to the internet to check for updates.
Here are the steps
Step 1
Hover the mouse over the bottom-right corner of the screen to bring up the Charms menu. Select the "Setting" option from it.
Step 2
In this Settings menu select the "Change PC settings" option.
Step 3
Select "Windows Update" from the left panel.
Step 4
Then, press the "Check for updates now" button from the right panel.
Step 5
This will connect to Microsoft's online update center to check for any updates available that you don't have yet.
Press "Install". This will download new updates and install them automatically.
The updates will download and then install automatically.
Step 6
Once Windows 8 has finished installing the updates, all it takes is a quick restart for them to take effect.
Step 7
Now, this will install new updates upon the restart of Windows 8.
