Splash Screen will be displayed with the Windows logo in a plain color background image when starting a Windows 10 PC. The screen takes time before showing the login screen.
The Splash Screen of Windows 10 is displayed for 3-5 seconds and is designed by Microsoft. When you disable the Windows 10 Splash Screen the boot time is reduced by 3 to 5 seconds. By disabling the Splash screen Windows 10 boots faster because the graphical animation on startup will not run.
Procedure for Turning ON/OFF Splash Screen of Windows 10
To disable the startup splash screen in Windows 10, you need to use the System Configuration dialog box.
- Open the Run dialog box by pressing Win+R type msconfig and click on the OK button or press the Enter key.
- After pressing Enter key the System Configuration Dialogue box will appear. Select the Boot Tab from the System Configuration dialogue box.
- From the Boot tab on the System Configuration screen, enable the checkbox called No GUI Boot under the Boot options section. Then click the Apply button to save the changes and then press OK.
- After you press the OK button you will then be prompted to restart your PC to apply the changes.
- You will then observe that your computer starts without the Splash Screen after restarting Windows.
- If you want to enable the Splash Screen again then you need to uncheck the No GUI Boot from the Boot Tab of the System Configuration dialogue box.
