Windows 8 provides the File Sharing and Printer Sharing. You can share the printer on your computer. If the printer is attached to your computer then you can share it with anyone on the same network. It does not matter what type of printer is installed on your computer. If it is a directly attached printer cable then using the cable, you can share it.
Two Methods for File Sharing
- Share Files from any folder In this method, you can decide who will be able to make changes to the files you share and what kind of changes they can make to them. You can share files or folders with someone using your computer or another computer on the same network. In this method, Share Permission can be granted to an individual or group of users on the same network.
- From the Public folder In this method, you can move or copy files to your public folder. If you turn on the File Sharing for a public folder, everyone can access and see all files available on your network and have a personal account on a computer.
Steps How to Enable File and Printer Sharing in Windows 8
Step 1
You can move the cursor on the bottom-right and click on the search box and type in it what you want.

In the search box, you can type the name "Control Panel" and click on the Control Panel.

In this step, you click on "System and Security".
Step 4
In this step, click on "Network and Security".

In this step, click on "View Network Status and Tasks" under the Network and Sharing Center.

In this step, click on "Change Advanced Sharing Settings" in the left pane of the Window.
