Introduction
This article provides a basic procedure for implementing security in QlikView.
Step 1: First we need to open the QlikView application, then go to:
"File" -> "New"
Then the window look like this:
Step 2: Then we need to upload an Excel file by simplly clicking a Browse button.
We upload a file, from where we saved our file.
Step 3: After opening our Excel file, then this window will be opened; then click on the "Next" button.
Step 4: After click on the "Next" button, we need to verify our data and then click on the "Next" button.
Step 5: The next step is to save our QlikView file with the extension ".qvw", anywhere you want and simply click on the "Save" button.
Step 6: Then we need to simply click on the "Next" button.
Step 7: The next step is to select the chart type, and click on "Next" button.
Step 8: The next step is to select the dimension and list boxes, this window will be opened.
Step 9: Then, we need to add an expression and click on the "Finish" button.
Step 10: This is the final window, in this window we can see the representation of the data.
Step 11: Now we need to open the Edit Script using "File" -> "Edit Script"; the following window will then be opened.
Step 12: The next step is write the code for the edit script.
Step 13: Now, we need to select the system variable.
Step 14: Now we go to "Insert" -> "Section Access" -> "Inline", then this window will be opened:
Step 15: Then this window will be opened and then click on the "OK" button.
Step 16: Then we need to create the inline data wizard and click on the "OK" button to finish this process.
