Out of every 3 smart phone users, one of them is Android device holder. Google's Android now has one third (33%) of US market. While Apple is still holding at close to 25%, the share of RIM has plummeted to 29%.
IDC predicts by 2015, Android will capture 44% of the market while Windows Phone will capture 20%. The Apple will be 16%.
While Windows Phone will gain Symbian shares, it looks like IDC is predicting that iOS will lose some ground to Android.
These numbers may be true but everybody I meet owns or moving to iPhone so I am really not sure how realistic these numbers are.
It seems like Android is more popular among developers. Our poll shows 55% of users would like to own an Android phone.
