Telegram Launches NFT Gifts, Message Filters and More

Telegram has kicked off 2025 with a feature-packed update, introducing several exciting new functionalities to enhance user experience.

Collectible Gifts

Telegram now allows users to upgrade received gifts into unique collectibles. These collectible gifts boast special attributes and can be transferred or auctioned on NFT marketplaces.

When upgraded, gifts unlock new appearances with custom variations designed by Telegram artists, along with random secondary traits like background color, icon, and number. Over 20 existing gifts can be upgraded, offering more than 1400 unique appearances. Users can send pre-upgraded gifts, and recipients can unwrap their collectible artwork directly in the chat.

Upgrading requires a small amount of Telegram Stars to cover blockchain fees.

Reactions for Service Messages

Service messages, which appear for events like receiving gifts, joining groups, or starting video chats, now support reactions. This allows users to acknowledge these events with just two taps.

Message Search Filters

The search functionality has been refined with new filters, enabling users to quickly locate messages from private chats, group chats, or channels. Users can also explore recent downloads, shared media, and popular channels through the search interface.

In-app QR Code Scanner

Telegram has integrated a QR code scanner within the app, allowing users to open links without switching applications.

Third-Party Verification

Official third-party providers can now add extra verification icons to user accounts and chats, enhancing transparency.

Custom Emoji in Folder Names

Premium users can now add expressive elements to their folders using unique emojis.
