At CES 2025 in Las Vegas, Nvidia introduced Project Digits, a personal AI supercomputer designed for individual use. This device brings Nvidia’s advanced Grace Blackwell hardware into a compact form that fits on your desk.
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang explained that Project Digits runs Nvidia's entire AI software, making it a powerful cloud computing platform that can also serve as a workstation. It’s made for AI researchers, data scientists, and students.
The supercomputer uses Nvidia’s GB10 Grace Blackwell Superchip, offering a massive computing power of up to a petaflop. This allows it to run large AI models and perform tasks like prototyping and fine-tuning AI systems. A single Project Digits can handle models with up to 200 billion parameters, which are key to a model’s ability to solve complex problems.
The GB10 chip, developed with MediaTek, includes an Nvidia Blackwell GPU paired with a 20-core Nvidia Grace CPU. It also comes with 128GB of memory and up to 4TB of flash storage. If needed, two Project Digits machines can be linked together to handle models with up to 405 billion parameters.
While it’s a powerful device, Project Digits isn’t cheap. It will cost $3,000 and will be available in May 2025 through select partners. Nvidia aims to make AI supercomputing accessible to developers, researchers, and students, giving them the tools to drive the future of AI.
