As a key member of the development team, you will be responsible for building and maintaining high-quality WordPress sites, ensuring optimal performance and security, and integrating a wide range of plugins, APIs, and third-party services.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with local and remote teams/clients to drive successful project outcomes.
• Plan and estimate technical requirements for new projects, ensuring efficient development and delivery.
• Contribute to improving internal development and DevOps processes for better quality and efficiency.
• Lead the development of custom WordPress sites, working closely with both domestic and offshore teams.
• Maintain and optimize codebase health, ensuring long-term scalability and maintainability.
• Integrate and troubleshoot various WordPress plugins, API calls, and third-party apps to enhance site functionality.
• Ensure a seamless customer experience across all platforms, devices, and browsers, including tablets and smartphones.
• Follow SEO best practices in development to enhance site visibility and performance.
• Research and recommend new technologies and tools for integration across different platforms.

Essential Skills

1. WordPress Development. Strong understanding of building and customizing WordPress solutions tailored to client needs.
2. Web Development Stack. Proficient in PHP, MySQL, JavaScript (including jQuery), HTML, CSS, and React.
3. Theme & Plugin Development. Experience with developing and modifying custom WordPress themes and plugins.
4. Version Control & CI/CD. Familiarity with Git and its workflows for version control and CI/CD pipelines.
5. Performance & Security. Deep knowledge of performance optimizations and security best practices for WordPress sites.
6. API & Plugin Integrations. Experience working with REST APIs, WPCLI, and various WordPress plugins.
7. Multisite Development. Experience with WordPress Multisite and high-traffic websites.
8. Page Builders. Expertise in using Elementor, Divi, or similar page builders is a plus.
9. Docker & VVV. Working knowledge of Docker and VVV (Vagrant for WordPress development).
10. Advanced JavaScript. Strong proficiency in modern JavaScript (ES6) and frameworks like React or Next.js.
11. WordPress Unit Testing. Experience in writing and maintaining WordPress unit tests (PHPUnit).
12. Gutenberg. Experience creating dynamic blocks and utilizing Gutenberg for custom solutions.

Desired Skills

1. Advanced WordPress Knowledge. Familiarity with VIP Coding Standards and contributions to the WordPress core.
2. Page Builders. Experience with page builders like Elementor, Divi, etc.
3. Package Management. Familiarity with tools like NPM and Composer.
