Job Description

The gTech Analytics, Platforms, and Tools team at Google is seeking a Web Solutions Engineer to join the Tools Development and Automation team. In this role, you'll collaborate closely with Engineering and Product partners to enhance Google's products and internal tools, making the Global Business Organization more efficient. Your responsibilities will include managing solutions, driving tool development, and implementing scalable solutions to address business needs. You'll work on big problems over large datasets using Google's infrastructure.

As part of an Engineering team, you'll develop and support tools, prototype proofs of concept, and contribute to technical design documents. Adhering to Google’s software development best practices, you'll work in partnership with Project/Product Management and Engineering teams. 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in full-stack web development.
  • 2 years of experience in Java, C++, Python, or related object-oriented programming.
  • 1 year of experience in TypeScript/Javascript front-end programming and Database/SQL.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Passion for engineering with experience in unit testing, agile project development, and bug and change management systems.
  • Ability to provide effective technical solutions to business challenges.
  • I have demonstrated an ability to be flexible and adaptable in exercising judgment in a dynamic environment, prioritizing, and managing tasks efficiently. 

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, deploy, and improve scalable full-stack web applications using standard and Google-specific software development tools.
  • Analyze problems, develop solutions, identify dependencies, and resolve issues to drive implementation.
  • Make technical contributions, including writing and reviewing design documents, tests, and code (e.g., JavaScript, Python, TypeScript, SQL).
  • Provide subject-matter expertise.
