The Google User Experience (UX) team consists of multi-disciplinary experts including UX Designers, Researchers, Writers, Content Strategists, Program Managers, and Engineers who care deeply about the people who use our products. We gather insights about user attitudes, emotions, and behaviors to inspire and inform design, collaborating closely with engineering and product management to create industry-leading products.

As a UX Engineer, you’ll work on the front end of our products in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. You’ll bridge UX best practices with production execution, showcasing your creativity, analytical skills, and knowledge of user-facing technologies to deliver efficient, high-quality outcomes. Your work will help users connect, communicate, and collaborate with others.

Responsibilities

• Handle multiple project requests simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.
• Advise, collaborate, and synthesize feedback from UX designers and researchers.
• Collaborate with other engineers on final implementation and polish.
• Ensure all projects meet high accessibility standards.
• Serve as a mentor for early career UX engineers and peers.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 4 years of experience in front-end development, technical UX design, or prototyping.
• 4 years of experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• 4 years of experience working with software/design development programs (e.g., React Native, Git, and Figma).

Preferred Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in developing responsive, adaptive, and performant websites and applications.
• 3 years of experience as a front-end developer, UX Engineer, creative or design technologist, or in a prototyping design environment.
• Experience in one or more of the following, Swift, Kotlin, Dart, Python, Ruby, Java, or C++.
• Experience with ES2015+ or TypeScript and modern libraries/frameworks (e.g., Node, Lit, React, Angular).
• Experience with vector and motion graphics, including Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG), HTML5 Canvas, and animation using JavaScript and CSS (e.g., GreenSock, D3, ProcessingJS, and Web Animation API).
