As a UX Designer for the Teams Admin Center, you’ll join a global team focused on the essential management hub for Microsoft Teams. Here, you will design intuitive interfaces that simplify the complex tasks of configuration, analytics, and security management for Teams administrators. You’ll play a vital role in ensuring administrators have the tools they need to effectively support their organization’s use of Microsoft Teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Design & Ideation. Generate innovative ideas to solve complex design challenges, creating user-friendly interfaces that are visually compelling and straightforward.
- Customer-Centered Approach. Develop an in-depth understanding of our users and their needs, ensuring that design solutions are centered around well-defined user needs and tasks, aligned with business and marketing goals.
- Communication & Advocacy. Present and document design directions to stakeholders, articulating your vision and connecting design solutions to business and user goals.
- Collaboration. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Design, Research, Program Management, and Engineering, to deliver engaging end-to-end user experiences across devices and input methods.
- User Research & Testing. Partner with researchers to coordinate and interpret testing efforts, integrating research findings into iterative design improvements.
- Design Systems. Utilize and enhance existing design systems, working with developers to ensure seamless realization of the design vision.
- Project Oversight. Manage timelines and deliverables, guide production efforts, and communicate project progress and evolving goals, aligning with design partners across Microsoft.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field with 3+ years of experience in product or service design (or equivalent experience).
- A strong portfolio showcasing skills in interaction design, visual design, and prototyping.
Preferred
- Proficiency in transforming research insights into user-centered designs.
- Experience across all aspects of UX design, from information architecture and workflows to micro-interactions.
- Demonstrated ability to address complex design challenges, working collaboratively across disciplines to ship relevant user experiences on time.
- Skilled in storytelling and empathy-building through effective written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- High-level proficiency in modern design and prototyping tools (Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Cloud) and adaptability to new tools and workflows.
- Experience working within structured design systems and a commitment to continuously improving them.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively and maintain attention to detail across projects.
