As a Test Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing and developing automated test scripts and tools for test rigs, focusing on automotive software development. Your responsibilities will include executing and maintaining manual and automated tests, troubleshooting issues, and working closely with global teams to deliver high-quality software for Polestar's innovative EV technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and Develop Automated Tests. Write automated test scripts and tools for testing automotive software, including HIL (Hardware-in-the-Loop) simulation rigs.
- Programming Skills. Utilize Python, Java, or C++ for developing test automation frameworks and tools. Familiarity with test frameworks like Robot and Pytest is essential.
- Collaboration. Work closely with the development team to identify test cases, requirements, and ensure comprehensive automation coverage.
- Test Execution. Implement and execute automated and manual tests, and analyze/report test results to ensure the software's quality.
- Troubleshooting. Identify and resolve issues within the test infrastructure and automate/manual tests, ensuring smooth integration and functioning.
- Continuous Improvement. Collaborate with the test team to enhance and maintain the automated testing infrastructure and processes.
- Stay Updated. Continuously stay informed on the latest trends in test automation, automotive software development, and industry best practices.
- Maintain Reports. Develop and maintain test reports, ensuring accurate documentation of the testing process.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Experience. Proven experience in manual and automated testing.
- Automotive Software Knowledge. Familiarity with automotive systems, vehicle networks such as CAN, LIN, FlexRay, and Ethernet.
- HIL Testing. Experience in Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing and simulation rigs.
- Programming Skills. Strong expertise in programming languages like Python, Java, or C++.
- Test Automation. Experience with automation frameworks such as Robot and Pytest.
- Agile Methodology. Exposure to Agile development practices and working in an Agile environment.
- Tool Familiarity. Experience with SystemWeaver requirement management tool from Systemite is a plus.
- Communication & Collaboration. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, enabling effective teamwork in a global environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Industry Experience. Prior experience working on automotive software projects, especially in the EV sector.
