We are seeking a dynamic, highly motivated TechOps Engineer to join our Global Technology Products (GTP) team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring the smooth operation, performance, and reliability of GTP services across our global organization. As a TechOps Engineer within our Global Engineering team, your primary focus will be supporting Local Business Units (LBU) and the Group in maintaining high-performing, reliable, and scalable services.
Key Responsibilities
Operations
- Provide comprehensive technical support for a suite of critical services to ensure minimal downtime and optimal performance.
- Conduct proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolution of operational issues.
- Implement robust processes and tools to enhance system reliability and efficiency.
- Ensure all systems and services are functioning smoothly by performing regular health checks and validations.
- Work collaboratively with various teams to address escalations and deliver quick, effective solutions for complex issues.
Incident Management
- Act as the first line of response for incidents by promptly identifying, diagnosing, and resolving issues.
- Conduct thorough root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring incidents and implement corrective measures to prevent reoccurrence.
- Escalate critical issues as necessary, ensuring adherence to defined service level agreements (SLAs).
- Maintain clear and accurate communication with stakeholders regarding the status, impact, and resolution of incidents.
Change Management
- Collaborate with release managers to plan, execute, and validate deployments in line with established processes.
- Conduct detailed post-deployment reviews to capture lessons learned, assess outcomes, and drive continuous improvement.
- Identify risks and challenges associated with changes and proactively develop mitigation strategies to ensure smooth implementation.
- Streamline release processes to reduce downtime and enhance deployment efficiency.
Performance Monitoring and Optimization
- Continuously monitor system performance metrics and service health indicators.
- Analyze trends and generate actionable insights to proactively identify areas for improvement.
- Implement optimization measures to enhance the reliability, scalability, and efficiency of services.
- Leverage performance monitoring tools and techniques to ensure services meet performance benchmarks and user expectations.
Collaboration and Alignment
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including development, infrastructure, and quality assurance groups, to align services with business objectives.
- Participate in technical discussions, share knowledge, and provide recommendations for system enhancements.
- Facilitate seamless integration of applications and systems to ensure continuity of services.
- Actively contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives and documentation to foster collaboration across the organization.
Key Qualifications and Skills
- 5+ years of experience in an operations, technical support, or TechOps role.
- Strong experience in incident management, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
- Familiarity with performance monitoring tools, system optimization practices, and change management processes.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to stakeholders.
- Experience in working collaboratively across cross-functional teams, including developers, QA engineers, and infrastructure specialists.
- Knowledge of service management frameworks (e.g., ITIL) is an added advantage.
- Hands-on experience with monitoring platforms and tools (e.g., Splunk, Nagios, Prometheus, or equivalent).
- Demonstrated ability to identify risks, implement mitigations, and drive service reliability.
- High level of initiative and ability to work independently in a hybrid work environment.
