Your responsibilities will range from strategic planning and product roadmap execution to day-to-day operations management in Google's global data centers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the exploration, development, and validation of core products in designated areas of data center infrastructure, such as Mechanical Yard, Electrical Yard, Server Hall, and Control Systems.
  • Own the lifecycle of product development from ideation and design to deployment and scaling.
  • Work with engineers and product teams to define product features and requirements and ensure that solutions are both cost-effective and scalable.
  • Drive project scope and lead cross-functional teams to deliver on schedule, cost, and quality targets for product launches.
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams including Global Capacity Delivery, Data Center Engineering, Infrastructure Operations, and other technical teams.
  • Identify, manage, and mitigate risks that could affect the successful delivery of projects, ensuring projects are on track and stakeholders are informed throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all stakeholders involved in the project, ensuring clear communication between different teams.
  • Collaborate with product management teams, ensuring that product requirements align with organizational goals and customer needs.
  • Partner with teams across design, engineering, supply chain, and operations to ensure that new data center products are scalable, reliable, and meet the necessary standards for security, compliance, and efficiency.
  • Lead innovation initiatives that help enhance data center infrastructure, integrating new technologies and cost-saving measures to improve overall performance.
  • Analyze emerging technologies and trends to recommend solutions that improve the efficiency and reliability of global data center infrastructure.
  • Incorporate sustainability goals into design and operational processes, striving for eco-friendly and energy-efficient solutions in all new product deployments.
  • Define and manage product requirements documents (PRD), including detailed technical specifications for mechanical and electrical systems, server halls, and controls.
  • Collaborate with teams to ensure products are delivered on time and within budget, ensuring that service level agreements (SLAs) and quality goals are met.
  • Oversee continuous improvement and help ensure that products evolve as necessary to meet changing business needs and technological advancements.
  • Manage the supply chain for hardware and infrastructure components necessary for data center expansion and maintenance.
  • Ensure that the deployment strategies meet the needs of Google’s data center expansion across the globe, while being mindful of cost, lead time, and resource constraints.
  • Report on project status to executives and senior leadership, including budgetary updates, risk assessments, and progress toward milestones.
  • Communicate trade-offs and potential risks clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ensure stakeholders are aligned on product goals, priorities, and any changes that may arise during the lifecycle of the product.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in engineering, computer science, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in program management or project management within the industrial, technology, or construction industries, particularly in data centers.
  • 5 years of experience managing projects across electrical, mechanical, or industrial engineering functions.
  • Familiarity with data center operations, including facility design and product requirements in the mechanical, electrical, and controls systems domain.

Preferred Qualifications
