Job Description

As a Team Lead at Amazon, you will play a critical role in overseeing operations, ensuring safety, quality, customer experience, and productivity within your department. You’ll work closely with the Operations Manager to manage your team, optimize processes, and ensure that operational goals are consistently met. You will be responsible for guiding improvement initiatives, driving standardization, and fostering an environment that prioritizes safety and operational excellence.

In this role, you’ll focus on.

  • Ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency in day-to-day operations
  • Managing and developing teams to meet operational and productivity goals
  • Driving process improvements and standardization
  • Collaborating with Area Managers to balance labor and optimize shift operations
  • Identifying and implementing process improvement initiatives using Lean tools
  • Leading performance management for your team and providing feedback

Key Responsibilities

  1. Team Management. Directly manage employees, monitoring their performance, and providing support and feedback to help them succeed.
  2. Operational Excellence. Partner with the Operations Manager to develop and drive key improvement projects for the site.
  3. Process Improvement. Lead and identify continual improvement initiatives to drive process excellence and standardization across the site.
  4. Safety & Compliance. Ensure adherence to safety programs and OSHA compliance to maintain a safe working environment for all associates.
  5. Efficiency & Productivity. Review work forecasts and determine productivity requirements, ensuring that operational goals are met daily.
  6. Shift Coordination. Collaborate with other Area Managers to balance labor and optimize shifts to maintain productivity and meet goals.

Basic Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Strong communication skills. fluently speak, read, and write in English.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and applications.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and/or overnight shifts regularly.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ years of manufacturing or customer-facing environment experience.
  • Strong background in performance metrics and process improvement.
  • Leadership experience in managing teams and driving results in a fast-paced environment.
