We’re seeking a skilled Storage Engineer with a strong background in both on-premises and cloud storage environments. As a Storage Engineer, you’ll play a key role in configuring, maintaining, and optimizing our storage systems to ensure maximum availability, performance, and data integrity. You’ll manage resources within NetApp storage and cloud solutions, including monitoring, compliance, and data management, while leveraging scripting and automation to streamline operations.
Key Responsibilities
Storage Configuration & Maintenance
- Configure and maintain on-premises and cloud-based storage solutions to ensure high availability and optimal performance.
- Manage resources within NetApp storage and cloud environments, including regular updates, health monitoring, and adherence to compliance standards.
File Access Solutions
- Implement Distributed File System (DFS) to enable seamless data access across geographically distributed locations, enhancing data accessibility for remote teams.
Data Redundancy & Synchronization
- Ensure data resilience through redundancy, replication, and efficient synchronization strategies to support business continuity and disaster recovery.
Cloud Storage Deployment & Management
- Deploy and manage NetApp Cloud Volume ONTAP (CVO) instances to meet organizational standards for performance, cost management, and scalability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate CVO with other cloud services and applications.
Storage Optimization
- Implement storage tiering and data management policies to optimize storage utilization and enhance cloud performance.
- Conduct performance tuning and capacity planning to optimize data access speed, storage utilization, and cost efficiency.
Automation & Scripting
- Use PowerShell and other scripting tools to automate routine storage tasks, monitor storage health, and support disaster recovery plans.
- Develop scripts to streamline operational efficiency, reduce manual workloads, and improve consistency in storage management.
Documentation & Knowledge Sharing
- Document configuration settings, troubleshooting guides, and operational procedures to support knowledge sharing and standardize best practices.
Qualifications
Education
- Degree in a related discipline or equivalent on-the-job experience.
- Preferred. Advanced degree and/or certifications such as NetApp NCDA, Azure.
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong understanding of NetApp ONTAP architecture, including storage protocols (NFS, CIFS/SMB, iSCSI).
- Familiarity with NetApp features like snapshot copies and SnapMirror for data protection and disaster recovery.
- Proficient in deploying, configuring, and optimizing NetApp Cloud Volumes ONTAP (CVO) within cloud environments, particularly Azure.
Experience
- 5+ years of experience working with NetApp Cloud Volume ONTAP and related storage technologies.
- Proven experience implementing and managing Distributed File System (DFS) in an enterprise setting.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with a background in data migration and replication for cloud storage.
