As a Staff Software Engineer at LinkedIn, you will play a pivotal role in developing innovative software solutions that ensure the security and integrity of our platforms. You will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to building scalable, reliable services that support various engineering teams across the company. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining systems that protect our members' data while fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable services and infrastructure. Write and test product or system development code.
- Participate in or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to evaluate technologies and design patterns. Make architectural trade-offs that align with business objectives.
- Produce high-quality software that is unit tested and code reviewed regularly for continuous integration.
- Act as a role model and coach for engineers, fostering a culture of craftsmanship and excellence. Help guide teams in best practices.
- Identify opportunities for collaboration across teams to design and build scalable platforms, products, services, and tools.
- Triage and debug product or system issues, analyzing their sources and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8+ years of experience in software design, development, and algorithm-related solutions.
- 8+ years of programming experience in Python, GoLang, and/or Java.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree (MS or PhD) with relevant work experience.
- Experience in designing and building infrastructure and web services at a large scale.
- Strong object-oriented programming skills and deep knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
- Familiarity with large-scale databases and streaming infrastructure services.
