As an Application Developer at Gartner, you will be pivotal in the development and maintenance of applications catering to iOS and Android devices, including mobile phones and tablets. This role is part of Gartner’s Engagement Center of Excellence, which plays a crucial role in delivering insights to clients through web and mobile channels. You will be instrumental in collaborative problem-solving, designing sophisticated solutions, and creating innovative applications.

What You Will Do

• Understand Gartner’s domain and business model, collaborating closely with business stakeholders to achieve objectives and deliver a world-class client experience.
• Design and develop cross-platform or native applications for the Android platform.
• Ensure high performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
• Collaborate effectively within the team to implement new features.
• Identify and resolve bottlenecks and bugs in applications.
• Maintain code quality and implement automation processes.
• Thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and take ownership of successful delivery of high-quality mobile features.

What You Will Need

• 4-6 years of professional experience in mobile application development, with expertise in both cross-platform and native Android app development using Java or Kotlin.
• Hands-on experience in designing and building applications using cross-platform technologies like React Native or Flutter, with a strong foundation in core technology and business knowledge.
• Ability to deploy code to both iOS and Android devices using cross-platform technology.
• Fast learner and critical thinker, adept at assessing complex issues, mitigating risks, and skilled in analysis, troubleshooting, and process improvement.
• Extensive experience in Android development, Java, Kotlin, storage solutions (local storage, SQLite, Room), OOPS, design principles (SOLID), and architectural patterns (MVP/MVVM).
• Proficiency in Android Core Components (Services, Broadcast Receiver), Android Architecture Components, and design patterns.
• Experience with Retrofit, Material Design, Push Notifications, Gradle, Maps, asynchronous programming, multithreading, DI/Dagger, build deployment, security, and performance best practices.
• Knowledge of professional software engineering practices for agile software development, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, testing, and deployment.
• Collaborative spirit with a proactive approach in Agile-Scrum environments, able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Graduate/post-graduate in BE/BTech, ME/MTech, or MCA preferred.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
