We are seeking a talented and driven Senior Data Scientist to join our Analytics team. In this role, you will work closely with various business units, including Industry and University Partnerships, Product, Marketing, Content, Finance, and Services, to influence strategic decisions through actionable insights. You will lead and mentor other data scientists while driving the analytics strategy to support content initiatives, engagement, and overall learner success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Pipeline Development. Design and implement data pipelines to support content acquisition and performance analysis. Utilize AWS Glue, PySpark, Python, and SQL to manage and optimize data workflows.
- Insight Generation. Provide actionable insights to guide business strategies, including forecasting content performance, optimizing content acquisition, and addressing A/B testing setups.
- Mentorship. Guide and mentor data scientists in statistical modeling, experimentation, and data analysis. Offer technical feedback and ensure high standards in project execution.
- Dashboard and Reporting. Define KPIs, build and manage dashboards, and create reports to measure the impact of various tests, content releases, and product improvements.
- Collaborative Analysis. Work with data engineering and operations teams to ensure effective content tracking and reporting tools. Analyze user behavior to identify opportunities for content optimization and growth.
- Strategic Guidance. Collaborate with content, marketing, and product managers to develop and measure growth initiatives. Advise on experimentation and measurement plans to drive global growth and learner success.
Basic Qualifications
- Educational Background. Degree in applied math, computer science, statistics, or a related technical field.
- Experience. 4+ years of experience in data science, with a focus on advising product or business teams. 2+ years of experience applying statistical inference techniques.
- Technical Skills. Proficiency in at least one scripting language (e.g., Python), statistical software (e.g., R, NumPy/SciPy/Pandas), and SQL.
- Soft Skills. Excellent business intuition, cross-functional communication, and project management capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Industry Experience. Experience in EdTech or content subscription businesses.
- Sales/Marketing Insight. Experience working with SaaS sales and/or marketing organizations, and familiarity with Salesforce and/or Marketo data.
- Tools Proficiency. Experience with Airflow, Databricks, Looker, and Amplitude.
