Job Description

As a Software Support Engineer at Amdocs, you will be responsible for providing exceptional technical support to a global customer base. You will own the resolution of complex technical problems, including debugging, simulations, tool and script development, and troubleshooting. Your role involves ensuring the software solutions perform efficiently, analyzing production issues, and contributing to continuous improvement efforts.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Technical Expertise. Provide engineering expertise to fix, modify, and engineer software solutions and configurations to meet design specifications.
  2. Issue Resolution. Investigate, debug, and reproduce issues, providing fixes and workarounds. Verify changes to ensure continued operability.
  3. Analysis and Correction. Analyze production issues from both business and application/code perspectives and outline corrective actions.
  4. Cross-Functional Coordination. Act as a technical focal point to resolve cross-product/solution issues.
  5. Ownership and Mentorship. Take ownership of specific application modules, offer technical support, and mentor team members in complex problem resolution.
  6. Continuous Improvement. Implement improvements and efficiencies in software or business processes using engineering tools, innovations, and reusable solutions.
  7. SLA and Metrics. Contribute to meeting various SLA and critical metrics to ensure timely task completion and adherence to quality targets.
  8. Training and Team Building. Onboard and train new employees, participate in team building, and facilitate knowledge transfer.
  9. Customer Partnership. Collaborate with internal and external customers to enhance understanding of problems and ensure appropriate resolutions.

Qualifications

  1. Educational Requirement. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  2. Experience. Minimum of 5 years as a Software Support Engineer.
  3. Skills. Proficient in debugging, simulations, tool/script development, and problem-solving.
