As a Software Engineering Architect at Salesforce, you will play a crucial role in shaping our technological vision and driving strategic technology initiatives. This multi-functional leadership position demands technical excellence, analytical skills, and the ability to influence business and technology leaders. You will work closely with engineering leaders and software architects to design and deliver highly scalable and secure SaaS solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Architecture Design. Define and drive software architecture and enterprise capabilities, including scalability, fault tolerance, extensibility, and maintainability.
- System Design. Design sophisticated software systems for high-end solutions independently.
- Principles and Standards. Establish overall architectural principles, frameworks, and standards.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration. Work consultatively with organizations such as security and operations.
- Leadership. Provide leadership to engineers, quality engineers, and product partners; drive research, case studies, and prototypes on new technologies.
- Strategy and Vision. Craft the architectural vision and roadmap for the organization in collaboration with other architects, principal architects, and CTOs.
- Technical Reports. Deliver technical reports and performance presentations to customers and at industry events.
- Mentorship. Act as an informal mentor to team members, supporting their understanding of the architecture and aiding in their technical development.
Required Skills
- Technical Mastery. Proficiency in multiple programming languages and platforms.
- Experience. 15+ years of software development experience, with a proven track record of delivering large and sophisticated projects.
- Mentorship. Ability to provide informal mentorship and support to team members.
- Agile Development. Experience with Agile methodologies, such as Scrum.
- Strategic Influence. Experience in working with other architects and senior technology leaders to craft and execute long-term design strategies.
- Performance Architecture. Expertise in developing technical performance architecture to address complex performance issues.
- Educational Background. A related technical degree is required.
