Job Description

As a Software Engineer in Azure Networking, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience in designing and managing massive-scale data center network architecture, network infrastructure automation, software-defined networking, and highly scalable, available, and reliable distributed service implementations. 

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather user requirements and contribute to the development of design documents for product features.
  • Implement code for products, services, or features, ensuring reuse and adherence to coding standards.
  • Participate in breaking down larger work items into smaller tasks and provide accurate estimations.
  • Serve as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) for on-call duties, monitoring system or service health, and gaining approval to restore services during incidents.
  • Identify root causes of network issues and system performance bottlenecks, propose technical solutions, and actively engage with customers to resolve their challenges.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2+ years of technical engineering experience with proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred

  • Knowledge of highly reliable distributed systems, microservices architecture, Azure DevOps, Redis, and Bootstrap.
  • Familiarity with common network protocols (TCP, BGP, IP routing, IPv6) and experience with networking router configuration.
  • Technical passion and strong problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering impactful results.
  • Experience in network security is advantageous.

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements.
