Amazon's Fintech Tax Technology team is seeking a Software Development Engineer to create and enhance world-class taxation systems for one of the largest e-commerce platforms globally. This position involves building scalable solutions that integrate with highly complex systems while ensuring compliance for Amazon's global businesses and its diverse range of vendors.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and Deploy Solutions. Design, develop, and deploy scalable software solutions that support Amazon's rapid growth and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
- Innovate and Enhance. Work on cutting-edge applications and services used by Amazon Tax teams to provide improved functionality for millions of vendors/payees.
- Collaborate Across Teams. Partner with the CFO organization and business leadership to drive innovations that support new market and business model launches.
- Architectural Design. Drive architectural and design choices, focusing on performance and security to build a scalable service-oriented platform.
- Problem Solving. Tackle complex challenges by developing algorithms for efficient transactions and providing insights for potential savings.
- Team Leadership. Set an example for other engineers through your technical expertise and ownership of project delivery, ensuring accountability within the team.
Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- 2+ years in design or architecture of systems, focusing on design patterns, reliability, and scalability.
- Programming Skills. Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Java, C++, Python).
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Education. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
