We are seeking a skilled Senior Software Development Engineer to join the Digital Royalties and Vendor Payments team, a crucial part of the Digital Acceleration org at Amazon.

In this role, you will play a pivotal role as a technical leader within the team, independently defining the architecture for the Next Gen financial automation programs. Beyond your immediate team, you will also influence the technical direction of other teams within the Digital Acceleration org and collaborate with partner businesses. This is an exceptional opportunity to address complex architectural challenges, innovate in the financial automation space, and contribute to shaping product direction.

Key Responsibilities

• Define the architecture for the next generation of financial automation programs.
• Influence the technical direction of teams within Digital Acceleration and partner businesses.
• Tackle complex architectural problems and drive product innovation.
• Communicate effectively and work collaboratively within a team.
• Collaborate with passionate software engineers and learn from experienced technical leaders.
• Utilize state-of-the-art technologies in AWS, Big Data, and Open Source spaces.
• Build highly scalable, highly available services for Amazon’s Digital Businesses.
• Enable royalty calculations and vendor payments for various digital businesses such as Kindle eBooks, Prime Video, Amazon Appstore, Amazon Music, and more.
• Set the technical strategy across multiple teams and contribute to expanding the overall vision.

Basic Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• Proficiency in at least one software programming language with 5+ years of programming experience.
• 5+ years of experience leading design or architecture, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling, for both new and existing systems.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
