Job Description

Google is hiring a Senior UX Researcher for Google Cloud. The role involves gathering insights about user needs, attitudes, emotions, and behaviors to inspire and inform design. As a UXR, you will work with multidisciplinary teams to create industry-leading products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct independent research on multiple aspects of products and experiences.
  • Collect and analyze user behavior through lab studies, field visits, ethnography, surveys, benchmark studies, server logs, and A/B testing.
  • Work with Designers, Product Managers, Developers, and other UXRs to prioritize research opportunities.
  • Understand and incorporate complex technical and business requirements into research.
  • Advocate research findings to diverse audiences through written reports and in-person presentations.
  • Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, Statistics, Psychology, Anthropology, related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in an applied research setting.
  • Experience with research design utilizing various methods (e.g., usability studies, contextual inquiry, surveys).
  • Relevant product research experience in an end-to-end, usability, or generative setting.
  • Portfolio, website, or any other relevant link to your work in your resume.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or PhD in Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, Statistics, Psychology, Anthropology, or related field.
  • 5 years of experience conducting UX research on products and working with executive leadership (Director level and above).
  • 3 years of experience managing projects and working in a large, matrixed organization.
  • Strong understanding of the strengths and shortcomings of different research methods.
  • Experience in a variety of product spaces, applied research, and/or academic settings.
  • Proficiency in communicating user research findings with cross-functional partners to drive impact.

Compensation

  • US base salary range: $142,000 - $211,000 + bonus + equity + benefits.
  • Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries across all US locations.
  • Additional factors include job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
