Job Description

We’re seeking a passionate and experienced Sr. Test Engineer to join our growing team and contribute to Brightly’s robust platform. You’ll work alongside a top-tier engineering and product team to design, implement, and support Brightly’s innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Champion Quality. Lead and drive quality across product development; be a vocal advocate for testing and quality assurance best practices.
  2. Data-Driven Decisions. Utilize data analysis for pragmatic decision-making aligned with both business and technology goals.
  3. Independent Contributor. Work effectively with minimal supervision, maintain a positive team attitude, and provide technical guidance to the test team.
  4. Collaborative Approach. Work closely with senior engineers, development managers, product managers, and scrum masters in an agile environment.
  5. Adaptability. Embrace change, tackle complex challenges, and be an advocate for continuous improvement within the team.
  6. Develop and Maintain Test Scripts. Build automated and manual test scripts from technical designs or for bug fixes.
  7. Tool Implementation. Participate in the selection and implementation of new Quality Assurance tools, ensuring alignment with best practices.
  8. Stay Updated. Keep current with evolving technology standards, trends, and best practices, actively sharing your learnings with the team.
  9. CI/CD Knowledge. Utilize knowledge of CI/CD to enhance the testing process and drive efficiency.

Required Qualifications

  1. Education. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  2. Experience. 5+ years in software testing and quality assurance.
  3. Technical Skills
    1. Automation. Proficient with Selenium WebDriver for creating and enhancing test cases.
    2. Programming. Skilled in Java or similar languages for test case automation.
    3. Testing Frameworks. Experience with TestNG or similar frameworks for grouping, prioritizing, and executing test cases.
    4. Parallel Execution. Use of Selenium Grid for simultaneous test execution.
    5. CI/CD. Experience with Jenkins and Maven for integration and testing environment setup.
  4. Analytical Skills. Strong ability to interpret technical product architecture and make sound decisions.
  5. Testing Knowledge. In-depth understanding of testing principles and methodologies.
  6. Team Leadership. Ability to lead small-to-mid-sized teams and support knowledge-sharing initiatives.
  7. Agile Experience. Experience working within agile methodologies.
  8. Communication Skills. Strong partnership and mentoring abilities, team player mentality, and excellent communication skills.

Bonus Points

  1. Cloud Experience. Familiarity with AWS or other cloud platforms.
  2. Open-Source Engagement. Contributions to open-source projects, repositories, or personal projects.
  3. Community Participation. Active in technology communities, meetups, or relevant groups.
