Join the Azure Core New Tech team at Microsoft and play a pivotal role in automating the onboarding process of new hardware for Azure, High-Performance Computing, Office, and Edge Computing products. This team operates at the intersection of software and hardware, developing solutions to validate, manage, and track hardware from arrival to disposal in Microsoft datacenters. You will contribute to automating management processes, ensuring the quality and security of hardware, and accelerating the introduction of innovative technologies to market.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather user requirements and drive the development of design documents for products, applications, services, or platforms.
- Design, implement, optimize, debug, refactor, and reuse code to enhance performance, maintainability, effectiveness, and return on investment (ROI).
- Utilize expertise in product features to partner with stakeholders, such as project managers, to drive project plans, release plans, and work items.
- Act as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI), overseeing operational aspects, monitoring systems, and initiating corrective actions to maintain system availability and performance.
- Proactively acquire new knowledge, adapt to emerging trends, and implement technical solutions that improve product reliability, efficiency, observability, and scalability.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 6+ years of technical engineering experience with proficiency in coding languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and government security screening requirements.
Preferred
- Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java.
- Experience working cross-functionally and collaborating effectively with diverse teams.
- Strong ability to prioritize tasks and work independently.
- Excellent hands-on design, coding, and problem-solving skills.
Additional Information
This position may require passing the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
