We are seeking a Senior Engineering Leader with a deep technical background to drive our engineering teams towards delivering exceptional value. This role combines engineering expertise with strong business acumen to achieve both short-term and long-term results.

Responsibilities

1. Lead Engineering Teams. Oversee the engineering organization to deliver a user-friendly marketplace for customers and application publishers. Guide teams to achieve exceptional results.
2. Strategic Planning. Collaborate with product management, design leaders, and other stakeholders to define strategy, set goals, and develop execution roadmaps.
3. Goal Ownership. Manage and deliver on significant company objectives (OKRs), ensuring alignment with broader company goals.
4. Cross-Functional Alignment. Partner with leaders across Atlassian to synchronize strategies and roadmaps. Influence and navigate prioritization discussions at senior leadership levels.
5. Quality Assurance. Maintain high standards for the quality of all systems and services delivered by your team, setting benchmarks for the SaaS industry.
6. Team Development. Cultivate and mentor leaders and engineers within your organization, fostering growth and development.

Qualifications

1. Experience. Over 5 years of engineering management experience with a proven track record of scaling teams and developing technical expertise.
2. Project Management. Demonstrated success in managing and delivering complex projects across federated teams, leveraging collaboration and communication skills.
3. Operational Excellence. Strong ability to drive change and uphold high standards for operational excellence, ensuring accountability and performance.
4. Leadership Skills. Proven ability to motivate and mentor individuals, aligning talent with project challenges to achieve outstanding results.
5. Strategic Collaboration. Significant experience working with Product Management, Design, and Program Management to set and deliver on platform or product vision and strategy.
6. Customer Focus. Deep passion for understanding and addressing customer needs, both internal and external, to drive success.
7. Technical Expertise. Extensive knowledge of application security, web applications, and modern software development techniques.
8. Education. Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems Management, or a closely related field.
