Job Description

You will be part of a dynamic and forward-thinking team of database engineers and administrators led by the Associate Director of Database Engineering. Our team is dedicated to ensuring high availability, robust performance, and secure data handling across the organization. We work closely with IT and business leaders to align our database solutions with the company’s strategic goals and seamlessly integrate them with other technologies and processes.

Key Responsibilities and Impact

  1. Database Design & Implementation. Lead the design, implementation, and management of DTS database systems, with a primary focus on SQL Server, MySQL, and cloud-based backup solutions like Rubrik.
  2. Performance Optimization. Utilize your deep expertise in database engineering to fine-tune performance, optimize queries, and enhance system efficiency.
  3. Cloud Database Management. Operate within cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure, leveraging your knowledge of cloud database technologies to maintain robust, scalable environments.
  4. Backup & Recovery. Implement and manage advanced backup and recovery solutions, including Rubrik and Delphix, to ensure data integrity and availability.
  5. Security & Compliance. Audit and secure database systems to meet regulatory and internal compliance standards, safeguarding sensitive data.
  6. Collaboration. Work with cross-functional teams to ensure database stability, security, and efficiency, contributing to the overall success of our IT infrastructure.

What We’re Looking For

Basic Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in database administration and engineering, with a strong focus on SQL Server.
  • Experience with cloud platforms like AWS and Azure.
  • Expertise in performance tuning, query optimization, and database security best practices.

  • Ability to build strong partnerships with various business unit stakeholders.
  • Strategic vision with innovative problem-solving abilities.
  • A commitment to fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in MySQL/NoSQL and Vector databases.
  • Experience with data lake environments, data fabric architecture, and the ETL ecosystem.
  • Familiarity with public cloud environments, including Oracle Cloud.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipeline development and maintenance.
