As a Senior Data Scientist in the Cloud Supply Chain (CSCP) organization, you will be instrumental in driving data-driven solutions that enhance Microsoft Azure’s cloud infrastructure. You will blend data science and software engineering skills to collaborate with diverse teams, building robust systems that meet the needs of our stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

1. Technology Vision. Be a self-starter with a proven track record of providing a clear technology vision and driving projects to successful completion.
2. Collaboration. Work closely with partner teams, including service and data science, to deliver comprehensive end-to-end systems and user experiences.
3. Software Development. Design, develop, and implement high-quality software that meets the increasing demands of availability, reliability, security, and performance at scale.
4. Complex Problem Solving. Convert complex designs into effective implementations, ensuring adherence to established technological standards.
5. Team Guidance. Dive into specific problem areas and guide engineering teams with recommendations and best practices.
6. Machine Learning Models. Develop and implement machine learning models using classical algorithms and foundation models.

Qualifications

• Doctorate in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or a related field with 10+ years of experience in data science.
• OR Master's Degree with 3+ years of experience.
• OR Bachelor's Degree with 5+ years of experience.
• Experience. Proven experience in managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques, and reporting results.

Preferred

• Master’s Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field with 5+ years of data science experience and 5+ years of technical engineering experience (coding in languages like C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python).
• OR Bachelor’s Degree with 8+ years of experience.
• Technical Skills. Understanding of basic applied cryptography and proficiency in multiple programming languages.
• Communication Skills. Strong written, oral, and presentation skills.
• Leadership. Ability to lead and influence teams without direct authority.
• Adaptability. Quick learner, capable of grasping unfamiliar technologies.
