As a Senior Data Engineer at Infosys, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and optimizing data pipelines and solutions using cutting-edge technologies like Google Cloud Platform (GCP). You will lead end-to-end project delivery, from designing the architecture to deploying solutions in production, with a strong emphasis on data governance, quality, and security.

You will work closely with key stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable data solutions that drive performance and provide actionable insights. The role requires a deep understanding of cloud technologies, data engineering, and strong stakeholder management.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of data pipelines on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), leveraging technologies such as Airflow, BigQuery, and Google Cloud Functions to handle large datasets efficiently.
• Build end-to-end data engineering solutions that ingest, transform, and load data from multiple sources into a data warehouse or data lake.
• Take ownership of end-to-end project delivery, ensuring solutions are designed, developed, and deployed with minimal oversight. Ensure timely delivery and manage project timelines and resources efficiently.
• Implement security enhancements in alignment with organizational security goals. Ensure that data is protected at all stages, from ingestion through transformation to storage and access.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, ensuring clear communication of project goals, progress, and technical details. Act as the point of contact for client discussions and provide technical leadership.
• Leverage your GCP expertise to design and implement scalable cloud architectures. Ensure that the data solutions adhere to data governance and data quality best practices, ensuring clean, reliable, and secure data for the business.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement best practices in cloud-based data engineering solutions.

Qualifications & Skills

• Hands-on experience designing and building scalable data solutions using Airflow, BigQuery, and Google Cloud Functions.
• Strong experience in building ETL pipelines and integrating multiple data sources into cloud platforms, specifically Google Cloud.
• At least 8+ years of experience in GCP architecture, including experience with Google BigQuery, Google Cloud Functions, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, and Cloud Storage.
• Familiarity with cloud security principles and best practices for data protection and compliance.
• Experience in data governance, ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and consistency across all systems. Familiarity with tools and methodologies to enforce data quality standards.
• Ability to implement security practices in cloud environments, including identity management, access control, and ensuring secure data handling and storage in the cloud.
• Experience in end-to-end project delivery, including requirements gathering, solution design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders, coordinate efforts across teams, and communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• A relevant cloud certification such as Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer or Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect will be highly desirable.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex data-related issues and come up with effective solutions.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills. Able to convey complex data concepts in a clear and understandable manner to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
