As a Senior Data Engineer at Infosys, your primary responsibilities will include designing and engineering data solutions, working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and leading the end-to-end delivery of data engineering projects. The role requires hands-on technical expertise with specific tools and services, particularly within GCP.

Responsibilities

• Leverage your hands-on experience in tools such as Airflow, BigQuery, and Google Cloud Functions to design, implement, and optimize data engineering solutions. You’ll work on building and maintaining data pipelines that process large volumes of structured and unstructured data.
• Take ownership of the complete project lifecycle, from requirements gathering and solution design to implementation and testing. You will be expected to work independently and guide the team in the execution of the project, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.
• You will be responsible for understanding and implementing security enhancements that align with Infosys' organizational goals and regulatory requirements. This includes maintaining data privacy and security across all engineering activities.
• Regularly engage with stakeholders across technical and business teams to understand requirements, manage expectations, and communicate progress. Your ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders will be crucial.
• Collaborate with other engineers, data scientists, and business analysts to ensure that the developed solutions meet business needs. As a senior member of the team, you will be expected to mentor and guide junior engineers.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering and working with GCP platforms.
• Strong technical expertise in tools like Airflow, BigQuery, Google Cloud Functions, and other GCP services.
• Experience in end-to-end project delivery, including gathering requirements, designing, developing, and deploying solutions.
• Data Governance and Data Quality expertise, ensuring that data is accurate, consistent, and reliable.
• Proven experience implementing security best practices and ensuring compliance with internal and external standards.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver under tight deadlines.

Desirable Skills

• Cloud Certifications in Google Cloud Platform or related cloud technologies are highly desirable.
• Expertise in data modeling, ETL processes, and data integration techniques.
• Experience with real-time data processing, data lakes, and streaming technologies.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.

Compensation & Benefits

1. Salary Range. 129,311 - 142,018 AUD annually (subject to enhancements based on experience and internal company processes).
