We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer with deep expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to lead end-to-end data engineering solutions. As part of our high-performing team, you will work on advanced data solutions, utilizing tools such as Airflow, BigQuery, and Google Cloud Functions. You will be responsible for delivering secure, scalable, and high-performance data systems. Your strong communication, stakeholder management skills, and the ability to independently manage the full project lifecycle are essential to success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of complex data engineering solutions on GCP, delivering projects independently while ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
• Utilize GCP services such as BigQuery, Airflow, and Google Cloud Functions to design, build, and maintain large-scale data systems.
• Implement and enforce data governance and data quality standards to ensure clean, secure, and compliant data systems.
• Collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure that the solutions meet business objectives.
• Identify and implement necessary security enhancements in line with the organization’s overall strategy and compliance requirements.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members and ensure high-quality code and best practices.

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and strong expertise in BigQuery, Airflow, and Google Cloud Functions.
• Hands-on experience in designing and implementing data pipelines, optimizing data workflows, and managing large datasets on GCP.
• Possession of relevant GCP certifications (e.g., Google Professional Data Engineer) is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated experience in implementing data governance and data quality practices across cloud environments.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and manage stakeholders effectively, both internally and externally.
• Proven ability to independently deliver complex projects, managing the full lifecycle from design to deployment.

Salary Range

• 129,311 - 142,018 AUD (Indicative range, subject to internal processes)
