Job Description

The Senior Consulting Account Executive position at Microsoft offers a dynamic opportunity to join a high-performing team within the Public Sector division. In this role, you will focus on transforming the Healthcare sector, working directly with one of Microsoft’s largest strategic customers in Ireland. As part of the Microsoft Industry Solutions Delivery team, you will play a pivotal role in leveraging cutting-edge AI and Cloud technologies to drive digital transformation within healthcare, creating life-changing impacts for both the customer and end-users.

This is a hybrid full-time role, offering a combination of remote work and in-office collaboration (primarily based in Dublin, County Dublin). You will be integral to a cross-functional, customer-centric team, ensuring that Microsoft's solutions empower the healthcare customer to meet their goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and drive Consulting Customer Relationship Management (CRM) for strategic accounts within healthcare.
  • Build trusted relationships with key stakeholders, positioning Microsoft as a long-term partner in digital transformation.
  • Utilize consultative selling methods to understand the customer’s needs deeply and provide tailored recommendations using Microsoft’s full suite of solutions.
  • Engage at senior leadership levels, advocating for the value of AI, cloud services, and industry-specific innovations.
  • Engage directly with customers to help them identify challenges and deliver Industry Cloud solutions that are tailored to their unique requirements.
  • Actively pursue opportunities in AI-powered solutions, integrating Microsoft’s Cloud platform to solve key healthcare challenges (e.g., data management, patient engagement, operational efficiency).
  • Innovate with customers by co-developing solutions with Microsoft and external partners that address critical healthcare challenges.
  • Align Microsoft’s Cloud and AI capabilities to deliver both immediate business outcomes and long-term strategic value for healthcare organizations.
  • Work closely with internal Microsoft teams, including engineers, architects, security experts, and other stakeholders, to create solutions that meet the unique needs of the healthcare sector.
  • Lead cross-team efforts, collaborating with external partners to bring in complementary expertise that supports customer transformation goals.
  • Ensure smooth execution and orchestration of customer-facing initiatives, driving optimal cloud consumption and delivering measurable results.
  • Manage the entire sales cycle, from lead qualification to the successful closure of deals.
  • Identify and qualify new business opportunities, using techniques such as BANT (Budget, Authority, Need, Timeline) and other methods to ensure customer alignment and sales success.
  • Lead the execution of pre-sales processes, such as solution architecture, proposal development, and demonstrations, ensuring the solutions align with customer goals.
  • Once deals are signed, ensure successful implementation and maximize cloud consumption through effective project management and client follow-up.
  • Focus not just on closing deals, but on ensuring customers realize the full value of their investments in Microsoft technology. Drive cloud consumption growth through continual engagement and optimization.
  • Build long-lasting relationships with customers to become a trusted advisor who is engaged with their ongoing transformation.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Substantial sales experience in the public sector (especially in Healthcare) or related industries such as Finance or Local Government.
  • Demonstrated ability in consulting solution sales, where you are engaging deeply with customers to recommend strategic technology solutions that drive digital transformation and business outcomes.
  • A proven track record of successfully managing strategic accounts, with a particular focus on complex sales cycles and long-term client relationships.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, or a related field is essential. Alternatively, an equivalent combination of experience and education will be considered.
  • A Master’s degree in a related field or advanced certifications may be an advantage, particularly for candidates with a deep interest or focus on cloud computing, AI solutions, or healthcare transformation.

Consultative & Solution-Oriented Selling

  • Expertise in delivering consultative selling, where you act as a trusted advisor, listening to customer needs, and crafting tailored solutions to solve their most pressing challenges.
  • Demonstrable success in strategic solution sales, particularly within Healthcare or public sector accounts.
  • Ability to sell Industry Cloud solutions and other Microsoft technologies, aligning them with customer needs and driving significant cloud consumption growth.

Technical and Business Acumen

  • Strong understanding of AI, Cloud, and other Microsoft technologies such as Azure, Microsoft 365, and Power Platform.
  • Deep knowledge of the healthcare sector, including challenges related to data management, patient engagement, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to demonstrate solutions and articulate value propositions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Extensive experience working with healthcare organizations, whether as a consultant, seller, or partner. Knowledge of the industry’s unique needs and regulatory environment is highly valuable.
  • Master’s degree in Business, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
  • Advanced certifications in cloud computing, AI technologies, or Microsoft-specific solutions will make you a stronger candidate.
  • Experience in managing and leading cross-functional teams to deliver large-scale, complex projects.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to drive initiatives to completion, delivering value to customers on time and within budget.
