As a Senior Analyst - Data Analytics at American Express, you will be responsible for producing meaningful insights and in-depth analysis that will drive the success of customer marketing campaigns. You will work closely with teams such as Customer Marketing, Investment Management, and Finance to monitor and optimize marketing investments. Your work will ensure that leadership can make data-driven decisions in real-time, improving performance and enabling us to meet customer and shareholder objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth analysis of Customer Treatments, such as Cross-Sells, Upgrades, and Lending Treatments, and generate actionable insights.
- Use advanced data techniques to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in customer behavior.
- Maintain, enhance, and manage the Customer ABC engine and collaborate with teams like Investment Management (IM) and Finance to ensure seamless integration and accurate data flow.
- Create, maintain, and deliver data-driven solutions based on business priorities.
- Develop and present insights to marketing partners through ad-hoc analysis.
- Ensure data integrity and quality throughout the reporting process.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Customer Marketing, Investment Management, Finance, and Technology, to identify opportunities for optimization and provide key insights.
- Foster a collaborative environment to drive new analytic/reporting ideas and solutions.
- Cater to ad-hoc analytic and data requests from leaders across different teams.
- Provide regular updates and insights on customer marketing performance and suggest improvements.
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience. 2+ years of experience in an analytics environment with hands-on experience working with relational databases such as SQL Server or PostgreSQL.
Technical Skills
- Proficient in SQL, Tableau/PowerBI, Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, formulas, macros).
- Strong understanding of relational databases and reporting tools.
- Communication. Excellent communication skills to interact with cross-functional teams and present findings effectively.
- Project Management. Ability to handle multiple requests, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to Detail. Extreme attention to detail and accuracy in handling data.
- Presentation Skills. Ability to create clear presentation materials and present findings to both peers and senior leaders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Educational Qualification. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Data Analytics or a similar field.
Additional Technical Skills
- Experience querying large data sets and deriving actionable insights.
- Proficient in Python (Pandas), Unix Scripting, Tableau/PowerBI reporting tools.
- Knowledge of Google Cloud or any other public cloud environment.
