Job Description

As a Senior AI Engineer on the Video AI team, you will be instrumental in advancing LinkedIn’s capabilities in video understanding and personalization. You will work at the cutting edge of AI and machine learning, developing innovative solutions to enhance how users interact with and engage with video content on our platform. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about video technology and eager to make a substantial impact through advanced AI techniques.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deploy models that enhance video content understanding and user engagement.
  • Implement systems for video feed personalization and recommendation, ensuring relevance and quality.
  • Address multimodal search challenges to deliver valuable video content to users.
  • Design scalable, high-performance systems with a focus on efficiency and reliability.
  • Explore and implement cutting-edge techniques in machine learning, Generative AI, and NLP to advance our video capabilities.
  • Analyze large datasets to understand user preferences and identify opportunities for product improvements.
  • Work closely with data science, product, and infrastructure teams to bring your ideas from concept to production.

Basic Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in software design, development, and algorithm-related solutions.
  • 2+ years of experience with programming languages such as Java or Python.
  • 2+ years of experience with machine learning, data mining, and natural language processing.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4+ years of relevant experience in machine learning and AI.
  • MS or PhD in Computer Science or a related field.

Technical Skills

  • Experience with machine learning, data mining, information retrieval, and advanced statistics.
  • Familiarity with Hadoop, Pig, or MapReduce paradigms.
  • Knowledge of Lucene/SOLR or other information retrieval systems.
  • Experience with iterative, test-driven development and configuration management tools (e.g., SVN, GIT).

Additional Skills

Experience with developing consumer-facing products and publishing work in academic or industry circles.
