Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Python Developer with over 6 years of industry experience, specifically in the Telecom OSS domain. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in telecom network applications, with expertise in Assurance and/or Fulfillment. As a Python SME, you will lead a team of approximately 10 members, providing L1/L2 support for telecom applications, ensuring the smooth delivery of product features, and managing incident response in a high-impact environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of 10 members in delivering L1/L2 support for telecom network applications.
  • Provide technical guidance to team members on product feature development, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
  • Manage on-call support and ensure 24/7 coverage for critical telecom applications.
  • Oversee major incident management, ensuring timely resolution and effective communication to stakeholders.
  • Perform problem management to identify and address recurring issues, minimizing downtime and improving application reliability.
  • Act as a key point of contact for customers, managing relationships and ensuring clear communication regarding incident resolution and product updates.
  • Conduct regular status meetings with customers, providing weekly/monthly reports on support activities, team performance, and process improvements.
  • Manage and troubleshoot applications (e.g., DNS, DHCP, WebMail) and in-house applications built primarily in Perl and Python.
  • Support and manage databases, ensuring optimal performance and availability.
  • Drive service improvement initiatives to enhance support processes, optimize workflows, and improve the overall customer experience.

Mandatory Skills

  1. Leadership Experience. Proven track record in leading a team of 5+ members in a support environment.
  2. Telecom OSS Domain. At least 3 years of experience working within the Telecom OSS domain, including understanding Assurance and Fulfillment.
  3. Python Expertise. Strong experience in Python development, with a good understanding of application support.
  4. Telecom Application Support. Experience in supporting telecom network applications such as DNS, DHCP, and WebMail.
  5. Incident & Problem Management. Experience in major incident management and problem resolution.
  6. Stakeholder Management. Excellent communication skills for managing customer relationships, running status meetings, and reporting on performance metrics.

Preferred Skills

  1. PL/SQL & UNIX Shell Scripting. Hands-on experience in PL/SQL and UNIX Shell scripting to support and automate tasks.
  2. Git & Jenkins. Proficiency in version control using Git and continuous integration using Jenkins.
  3. Cloud Technologies. Familiarity with cloud platforms and technologies to enhance scalability and deployment of telecom applications.

Additional Skills

  1. Customer-Facing Experience. Ability to manage customer relationships and address their needs effectively.
  2. Communication & Reporting. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail in generating clear, concise reports.
  3. Problem-Solving & Analytical Skills. Strong troubleshooting and analytical abilities to identify, diagnose, and resolve technical issues effectively.
