Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Python Developer with a strong background in Golang and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to join our growing team. In this role, you will work on a project aimed at migrating brownfield applications to a standardized ingress service for a top-5 healthcare service provider in the United States. You will collaborate closely with the client’s development teams to help onboard their applications to a private cloud environment while implementing necessary platform enhancements to address edge cases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead efforts to migrate legacy, on-premises applications to a cloud-based environment (private cloud/GCP), ensuring seamless integration with new platform standards.
  • Design, implement, and maintain Golang-based services and tools that align with the platform’s architecture and project requirements. Focus on clean, scalable, and efficient code.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to implement platform changes, including enhancements and optimizations required for specific edge cases, as identified during the migration process.
  • Identify and resolve complex issues within the Golang-based system, ensuring smooth and uninterrupted operation of the migrated applications.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including client developers and stakeholders, to ensure the project meets business goals. Participate in regular sprint reviews and stand-ups and provide timely updates on progress.
  • Contribute to the optimization of application performance in the cloud environment, including resource management, cost optimization, and scalability improvements.
  • Stay updated with the latest developments in cloud technologies and Golang, adopting best practices in cloud application development, security, and performance tuning.

Required Qualifications

  • At least 3+ years of hands-on experience with Golang development, especially in cloud-native applications and distributed systems.
  • At least 2+ years of experience working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including knowledge of key services like Compute Engine, Cloud Functions, Cloud Storage, and Kubernetes.
  • Proficiency in Python, especially for automation, scripting, and integration tasks within a multi-language environment.
  • Solid understanding of enterprise-level application design, cloud architecture patterns, and microservices architectures.
  • Expertise in identifying, troubleshooting, and debugging issues in complex, cloud-based distributed systems.
  • Proven track record of collaborating effectively with remote and distributed teams, adapting to different time zones and communication styles.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience in handling large-scale application migrations, particularly in modernizing legacy systems to cloud-native applications.
  • Familiarity with the healthcare services sector, including understanding healthcare compliance standards (e.g., HIPAA) and the specific needs and challenges of healthcare applications.
  • Knowledge of cloud performance optimization, including cost management, resource scaling, and performance monitoring in cloud-based environments.
