We are seeking a highly skilled Exterior Product Design & Development Specialist who excels in creating innovative solutions for automotive components such as Front & Rear Bumper systems, Grills, Energy Absorbers, and Claddings. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in benchmarking, feasibility analysis, and project coordination, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and optimal design practices.

Key Responsibilities

Product Design & Development

• Design and develop exterior systems including Front & Rear Bumper systems, Grills, and Claddings.
• Conduct feasibility studies, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards such as ECE R26.
• Create concept proposals and conduct packaging studies in collaboration with surrounding parts.

Benchmarking & Feasibility Analysis

• Benchmark external systems against industry standards to drive continuous improvement.
• Perform style surface feasibility and analysis, checking draft and tooling feasibility.

Design for Manufacturing & Assembly (DFx)

• Implement DFx principles to optimize manufacturing, assembly, and serviceability.
• Apply knowledge of tooling, fixings, materials, GD&T, and Stack up DFMEA/DVP.

Project Coordination & Management

• Lead a team of 3-5 members, managing project timelines and deliverables.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for both customers and internal teams.
• Prepare project plans, resolve issues, and maintain ongoing project status updates.

Communication & Stakeholder Engagement

• Demonstrate strong communication, presentation, and documentation skills.
• Provide advanced technical insights to internal teams and customers, ensuring clarity and alignment.
• Resolve technical ambiguities through effective communication with stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in exterior product design and development within the automotive industry.
• Proficiency in CAE tools and understanding of CAE requirements for project implementation.
• Strong project management skills with a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams.
