Job Description

As a Product Manager II, Ads, you will be responsible for driving the development and growth of Google’s advertising products. Working cross-functionally with teams across engineering, UX/UI, marketing, and more, you will lead the development of innovative advertising solutions. Your role will be key in bridging the gap between technical and business teams, guiding products from conception through to launch, and iterating based on user feedback.

Your impact will be significant in helping businesses, from small startups to large enterprises, create effective search, display, and video advertising campaigns that deliver measurable results. You’ll work within the Google Ads team to empower businesses to achieve their goals through the most powerful and effective advertising tools available, driving both business and user value.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth research to understand market trends, competition, and user needs.
  • Analyze the performance of existing products and identify opportunities for new products or features.
  • Drive the full product lifecycle, from ideation and development to launch, testing, and iteration.
  • Collaborate with engineering and UX/UI teams to develop high-quality, user-centered products.
  • Work with marketing and legal teams to ensure alignment with business goals, regulatory requirements, and privacy considerations.
  • Partner with engineering, marketing, legal, UX/UI, and other stakeholders to drive product innovation and ensure alignment across teams.
  • Ensure that products are developed on time, meet the technical specifications, and align with business goals.
  • Use data and user feedback to inform product decisions and iterate on existing features.
  • Analyze the success of new products and features through rigorous testing and performance measurement.
  • Collaborate with other product managers and teams to develop creative solutions for complex product challenges.
  • Drive innovative solutions to improve the advertising experience for users, businesses, and publishers.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in product management or a related technical role.
  • At least 2 years of experience in taking technical products from concept to launch.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or PhD in a technology or business-related field.

Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in a business function such as strategic marketing, business operations, or consulting.
  • 3+ years of experience preparing and delivering technical presentations to senior leadership.
  • 2+ years of experience working cross-functionally with engineering, UX/UI, sales, and finance teams.
  • 2+ years of experience in software development or engineering.
  • 1+ year of experience in technical leadership.

  • Proven track record of managing complex technical products and guiding them through their entire lifecycle.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Excellent collaboration skills with the ability to work with diverse teams and stakeholders to align on objectives and outcomes.
  • Solid understanding of the technical aspects of product development and the ability to communicate effectively with engineering teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience presenting to senior leadership and external stakeholders.

Compensation

  • Salary Range (for US applicants). $142,000 - $211,000 + bonus + equity + benefits.
