As a Product Manager for Dataplex, you will play a critical role in defining and driving the strategy for Google Cloud's data governance and analytics solutions. You will guide products from conception to launch, collaborating with engineering teams, enterprise customers, and cross-functional stakeholders. This role demands a blend of technical acumen and business insight, with a focus on building solutions that address complex data governance and security needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategy and Roadmap. Define the product strategy and future roadmap for Dataplex. Develop and execute plans that align with user needs and business objectives.
- Customer Engagement. Collaborate with enterprise customers to understand their data governance strategies and requirements. Translate these insights into actionable product features and improvements.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration. Partner with engineering, UX, marketing, sales, and solutions teams across different time zones to drive product development and ensure successful execution.
- Product Lifecycle Management. Oversee the entire product lifecycle from ideation through launch and beyond. Manage product positioning, packaging, and promotion to ensure market success.
- Technical and Business Insight. Bridge the gap between technical and business worlds by breaking down complex problems into actionable steps. Leverage your understanding of big data technologies and Google Cloud’s analytics stack to drive product innovation.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education. Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience. 8 years of experience in product management or a related technical role, including 3 years of experience taking technical products from conception to launch.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience. 10 years of experience in enterprise product management, with a strong track record of building data governance and security products.
- Technical Expertise. Deep understanding of big data technologies and the GCP Data Analytics stack.
- Customer Focus. Proven experience working with enterprise customers on governance needs and building products that integrate across a product portfolio.
- Domain Knowledge. Familiarity with security, access control, and compliance domains.
