Job Description

As a Principal Mobile Engineer at Expedia Group, you'll be a key player in shaping the future of mobile experiences within our Growth and Loyalty technology organization. This role focuses on enhancing user engagement through innovative mobile solutions, contributing to the development of personalized and cohesive experiences across platforms.

What You Will Do

  1. Technical Leadership. Establish relationships with leaders across the organization to address business problems through technology. Advocate for creating stable, scalable, and resilient software solutions.
  2. Mentorship. Guide and mentor team members, evaluating the impact of solutions and ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  3. Innovation. Stay updated with industry practices and implement new methods to enhance our mobile ecosystem.
  4. Collaboration. Work with other architects to deliver a cohesive developer and customer experience across all platforms.
  5. Vision Development. Develop a strategic vision for your domains, driving technology and architectural initiatives.

Who You Are

  1. Education & Experience. Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field or equivalent experience. Strong UX software engineering experience with a proven track record in full software development lifecycle.
  2. Technical Expertise. Experienced in end-to-end development and publishing of multiple native apps, with proficiency in Kotlin/Java and Swift/ObjC. Familiarity with API technologies, server-driven UI approaches, and modern declarative systems like Jetpack Compose/Flow and SwiftUI/Combine.
  3. Skills & Knowledge. Understanding of object-oriented concepts, client/server architecture, and high-performance design. Experience with MVVM and other design patterns, Test Driven Development, and continuous integration tools.
  4. Leadership & Communication. Effective communicator who can collaborate with both technical and non-technical leadership. Proficient in crafting apps for accessibility and managing trade-offs in embedded systems.

Compensation

  • Austin. $221,000 to $309,500, with potential to increase up to $353,500 based on performance.
  • Chicago. $202,500 to $283,500, with potential to increase up to $324,000 based on performance.
  • Seattle. $221,000 to $309,500, with potential to increase up to $353,500 based on performance.
  • Note. Pay ranges may vary based on location, budget, and individual qualifications.
