Job Title. Principal Firmware Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Involvement in all phases of product development, from microarchitecture design through firmware architecture and development.
  • Leading a team of Firmware/Software Engineers through various development phases.
  • I am driving the architecture, design, and development of sub-systems, including UEFI firmware development for low-level hardware interfaces.
  • Responsible for firmware-level debugging as part of end-to-end firmware development and debugging.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline with 6+ years of technical engineering experience or equivalent.
  • 12+ years of professional experience in designing and developing Embedded Software and Firmware solutions.
  • Experience in UEFI design resulting in solving complex Hardware/Firmware interface issues.
  • Experience working with multiple teams on root-cause-analysis with troubleshooting and debugging skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Additional qualifications such as a Master's Degree and extended years of technical engineering experience.
  • Specific experience with peripherals (PCIe, memory interfaces), OS primitives, memory management, scheduling, interrupts, and threading.
  • Experience in the implementation of Hardware/Firmware Security and firmware enablement primitives.
  • In-depth knowledge of platform initialization, board support package integration, low-level drivers for various peripherals, and other relevant technologies.
  • Experience with architecting, designing, and delivering new Data Center class technologies.
