Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize data models in Power BI to support reporting and analytical needs.
  • Support and design the migration of high volumes of data into Power BI, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Utilize best practices and standards to create entities, relationships, measures, calculation groups, field parameters, etc., to meet stakeholder requirements.
  • Ensure data accuracy and reliability through validation and quality checks.
  • Design and build user-friendly and insights-driven visualizations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data issues and performance bottlenecks.
  • Apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to various challenges.
  • Collaborate with developers, analysts, and business users to understand requirements, provide feedback, and deliver solutions.
  • Train and coach internal and external teams for effective knowledge management.

Qualifications

Basic

  • 5+ years of SQL experience.
  • 5+ years of experience creating data models (e.g., SSAS Tabular/OLAP, Power BI, Tableau, LookML).
  • 5+ years of experience with BI or visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent.

Preferred

  • Experience implementing a self-service semantic layer using the Microsoft stack (Hybrid and/or full cloud) for a large company.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft stack beyond Power BI (e.g., Analysis Services, Fabric).
  • Experience with MDX or DAX coding to query against tabular and multidimensional models.
  • Experience with all facets of the SDLC (from requirements through sunset).

Compensation

  1. Pay range. $96,000 to $156,000.
  2. Total compensation may include annual performance bonus, stock, benefits, and/or other incentive compensation plans.
  3. Compensation packages are based on several factors, including skill set, experience, certifications, and work location.
