We are seeking an experienced PostgreSQL Administrator with 7 to 10 years of expertise to join our team in New Delhi. As a PostgreSQL Administrator, you will be responsible for administering, installing, configuring, and maintaining PostgreSQL database servers. Your role will encompass ensuring system health, security, and integrity while providing end-to-end technical support and problem resolution.

Key Responsibilities

1. Database Administration. Administer PostgreSQL database servers, including installation, configuration, monitoring, and maintenance of system health and security.
2. Backup and Recovery. Design and implement backup processes for servers and associated data. Develop, manage, and test backup and recovery plans to ensure data integrity and availability.
3. User Management. Create user accounts, assign security levels, and manage permissions to ensure database security and integrity.
4. Server Maintenance. Schedule and perform regular server maintenance activities, including updates and patches.
5. Disaster Recovery. Implement and manage disaster recovery procedures and database backup strategies.
6. Performance Tuning. Hands-on experience in performance tuning of MySQL and PostgreSQL databases. Conduct capacity planning to optimize database performance.
7. Collaboration. Communicate regularly with technical, applications, and operational teams to maintain database integrity, security, and performance.
8. Shift Work. Willingness to work in a 24x7 support environment, including on-call duties as required.

Requirements

1. Experience. 7 to 10 years of proven experience as a PostgreSQL Administrator or in a similar role.
2. Technical Skills. Strong proficiency in PostgreSQL database administration, including installation, configuration, and performance tuning.

Experience with MySQL administration is a plus.

1. Backup and Recovery. Familiarity with disaster recovery procedures and database backup strategies.
2. Communication. Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
3. Independence and Initiative. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and take initiative in problem-solving and troubleshooting.
