We are currently seeking an experienced and proactive Oracle DBA to manage, optimize, and secure our client’s Oracle database environments. As part of the TCS family, you will work with cutting-edge technology to ensure the highest levels of database performance, availability, and security.
The ideal candidate will possess strong hands-on experience in managing Oracle Single and RAC instances, as well as proficiency in various Oracle technologies such as performance tuning, database migration, disaster recovery, and more. You will also be expected to troubleshoot issues and contribute to process improvements across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
- Oracle RAC Expertise. Strong understanding of Oracle RAC (Real Application Clusters), including versions 11g, 12c, and 18c. In-depth knowledge of RAC networking and background processes. You will leverage this expertise to resolve complex issues and ensure the optimal performance and availability of the RAC environments.
- Database Performance Tuning. Utilize your expertise in database performance tuning to improve and optimize the performance of Oracle databases, identifying bottlenecks and implementing strategies to enhance database responsiveness and efficiency.
- Disaster Recovery (DR) Drills & TDE Implementation. Lead disaster recovery drills and perform implementations of Transparent Data Encryption (TDE) to enhance database security and data protection, ensuring seamless data recovery in the event of system failures.
- Database Migration & Upgrades. Take charge of Oracle database migrations across servers and platforms, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal downtime. You will also manage upgrades from older Oracle versions (e.g., 10g to 11g, 11g to 12c, and 12c to 18c), following best practices to maintain system stability and performance.
- Installation & Configuration. Handle the installation and configuration of Oracle 11g, 12c, and 18c databases according to organizational requirements and industry best practices. You will be responsible for setting up new databases, managing user roles, and maintaining the overall health of the systems.
- Patching & Security. Ensure regular patching and updates for Oracle databases, including applying PSU (Patch Set Updates) and resolving potential security vulnerabilities. Proactively monitor database systems for potential issues, ensuring uninterrupted services.
- Backup & Recovery. Manage and perform regular database backups using RMAN (Recovery Manager), ensuring data integrity and the ability to restore data efficiently. Implement backup strategies tailored to client requirements, ensuring business continuity.
- Capacity Planning & Resource Management. Work closely with hardware teams to ensure the databases are allocated sufficient resources to function at optimal performance levels. Your expertise in capacity planning will help prevent potential resource bottlenecks and improve scalability.
- Collaboration & Problem Solving. Work cross-functionally with other teams to ensure the smooth running of database systems, offer troubleshooting support, and identify proactive solutions that can enhance service delivery for clients. Your problem-solving skills will be instrumental in preventing issues before they occur.
Key Requirements
- Technical Expertise. Strong working knowledge of Oracle RAC 11g, 12c, and 18c, including troubleshooting and background process management. Proficiency in database performance tuning, migration, and upgrades.
- Oracle Certifications. While not mandatory, certifications like Oracle OCA (Oracle Certified Associate) and OCP (Oracle Certified Professional) are highly preferred and will give you an edge in the selection process.
- Database Security. Hands-on experience with Oracle Vault, Transparent Data Encryption (TDE), and other security features like E-wallets and database security points.
- Backup & Disaster Recovery. Experience with RMAN backups, disaster recovery, and performance of DR drills to ensure the integrity of business-critical data.
- Problem-Solving Mindset. Ability to diagnose and resolve complex database issues efficiently, and proactively identify opportunities for system optimization and process improvements.
- Capacity Planning & Monitoring. Strong skills in capacity planning and database monitoring to ensure systems perform optimally under varying loads.
