IBM is seeking a talented mid-level attorney to join our global Privacy + AI legal team in NYC or Armonk, NY. In this role, you will advise on issues at the intersection of data protection and cutting-edge AI innovation and regulation. Key responsibilities include advising on data protection laws, AI regulations, and compliance requirements, collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate legal considerations into product development, and finding practical solutions to address issues beyond risk assessments.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- J.D. (or foreign equivalent) and active membership in at least one US state bar.
- 5+ years of experience as a practicing attorney in privacy law.
Preferred Technical And Professional Expertise
- In-depth experience with global privacy laws.
- Experience with AI ethics and emerging AI regulation.
- Experience with business practices and product counseling in the technology industry.
- Ability to think strategically and practically, with excellent legal and business judgment.
- Proactive mindset and experience prioritizing work.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, simplifying complex legal concepts while identifying key issues.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multi-stakeholder environment.
