Key Responsibilities
- Operating Systems Expertise. Hands-on experience with Linux and Unix operating systems, ensuring optimal functionality and performance across critical platforms.
- System Assessment and Stability. Assess, monitor, and enhance the stability, security, and scalability of installed systems, including addressing vulnerabilities and potential risks.
- System Reinstallation and Recovery. Manage reinstallation processes in the event of system crashes or failures. Implement effective recovery procedures to minimize downtime.
- Periodic Health Checks. Conduct regular health checks of systems, identify issues, and implement corrective actions to maintain consistent operational efficiency.
- Infrastructure Maintenance. Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for infrastructure maintenance, ensuring a structured approach to IT operations.
- User Management. Oversee the creation, modification, and management of usernames, roles, and passwords across servers, applications, and devices to maintain security and accessibility.
- Change Management. Follow established change management protocols to ensure seamless integration and updates while minimizing disruptions.
- Security and Vulnerability Management. Strengthen security across internet and intranet systems through vulnerability assessment (VA) closure processes.
- Backup and Recovery Management. Implement and manage system security measures, such as intrusion detection systems, and ensure robust data backup and recovery mechanisms are in place.
- Hardware and Software Installation. Install, configure, and upgrade computer components, software, and hardware while ensuring compatibility and system performance.
- Virtual Server Management. Manage virtual servers, integrate automation processes, and improve efficiency across virtualized environments.
- Helpdesk and Desktop Support. Lead desktop and helpdesk support initiatives, resolving application, workstation, and equipment issues promptly to minimize user disruptions.
Qualifications and Skills
Educational Background
- BE/BTech in Computer Science
- BSc in IT or Computer Science
Technical Expertise
- Strong knowledge of Linux and Unix operating systems
- Hands-on experience with system security, intrusion detection systems, and data recovery
- Familiarity with automation tools and virtual server management
- Experience with vulnerability assessment and rectification measures
