The Junior Art Director will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and successful execution of creative projects. Working closely with the Creative Director and art direction team, the Junior Art Director will provide feedback and direction based on a strong understanding of design principles, brand guidelines, and Gartner's Research & Advisory products and services. This role involves guiding designers to align creative concepts with objectives and ensuring effectiveness for the target audience. The Junior Art Director will develop design solutions from concept to completion for high-profile projects across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Influence creative projects through design review and ownership of creative, non-standard projects.
- Advise and coach designers on translating visual/verbal concepts and creative strategy into research.
- Recommend design, layout, typography, and visual ideas for all project aspects.
- Champion the brand's visual identity and research graphic standards, ensuring guidelines are followed.
- Facilitate design critique sessions and lead design consultations with subject matter experts.
- Approve selected artwork, design, graphics, and photography.
- Lead and support creative-focused initiatives and projects.
- Assess and address the need for departmental training and partner with leaders to create effective training.
- Stay updated with industry trends and integrate innovative ideas into projects.
- Collaborate closely with the creative team to develop concepts that communicate client messages effectively.
- Present and communicate creative concepts and strategies to clients in a professional manner.
- Create and support an open, collaborative environment for sharing techniques, ideas, and best practices.
Qualifications
- A college degree in graphic design or a closely related discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in a design role, with at least 3 years in a senior graphic design role.
- Strong portfolio showcasing visual design and conceptual thinking.
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite.
