This strategic initiative is transforming how Visa builds and exposes software products, making it easier for developers to create modular, scalable, and effective payment solutions. We’re looking for someone to lead the development of APIs, platforms, and tools that will empower external developers to connect seamlessly with Visa’s ecosystem.

As part of our team, you will be responsible for creating state-of-the-art mobile applications and driving the design and architecture of scalable, enterprise-grade systems that support Visa’s broader payment ecosystem. Your expertise in mobile application development, especially using Swift, will be pivotal in creating innovative solutions for Visa’s partner and developer ecosystem. You'll be working alongside a collaborative, cross-functional team, ensuring high-quality user experiences while also contributing to the efficiency and scalability of Visa’s API management platform.

Key Responsibilities

1. Ownership & Leadership. You will take complete technical and engineering ownership of one or more applications, ensuring the successful delivery of projects that meet both technical and business requirements.
2. Technical Expertise & Design. Leverage your expertise in iOS technologies to translate complex functional requirements into detailed architecture and design. You will be at the forefront of defining solutions, ensuring that your designs are scalable, reusable, and efficient.
3. Collaboration. Work closely with the architecture and business teams to deliver best-in-class solutions that meet the needs of Visa’s clients, partners, and developers. You will be instrumental in influencing our strategy and driving technical decisions.
4. Agile Champion. Promote Agile best practices and foster a culture of continuous improvement across the development lifecycle. Inspire the team to innovate and evolve our development processes.
5. Hands-on Development. Lead by example, guiding the development process by actively participating in code reviews, design discussions, and hands-on coding. Your contributions will directly influence the success of the platform.
6. Engineering Best Practices. Act as an ambassador for engineering excellence, championing high standards for code quality, testing, and collaboration. You will lead the creation of design documents, implement solutions, and refactor existing solutions for better performance and scalability.
7. Problem Solving & Innovation. Identify opportunities to refine standards, processes, and systems, always seeking ways to improve performance, reduce costs, and accelerate innovation.
8. Support & Maintenance. Provide rotational on-call support as necessary, ensuring the ongoing reliability of Visa’s products.

Key Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an advanced degree (e.g., Masters, MBA, JD, MD) OR 8+ years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Experience in iOS Mobile Application Development. At least 7+ years of experience in building iOS mobile applications using Swift.
2. In-depth iOS Knowledge. Extensive knowledge of iOS technologies such as Swift, Objective-C, and experience with frameworks like Core Data, Core Animation, and others.
3. Design Patterns & Architectures. Expertise in various design patterns including MVC, MVVM, and VIPER to build robust, maintainable, and scalable applications.
4. Networking & API Integration. Strong understanding of network architecture, RESTful APIs, and the integration of iOS apps with backend services.
5. Performance Tuning & Storage. Experience with offline storage, threading, multithreading, and performance tuning, ensuring your applications are optimized for performance.
6. Test Driven Development. Experience with Test Driven Development (TDD), including writing unit tests and UI instrumentation tests to ensure the quality and stability of your applications.
7. Security Best Practices. Familiarity with iOS platform security practices (e.g., OWASP) to ensure applications are secure.
8. User-Centered Design. A strong passion for user experience, coupled with knowledge of Apple’s interface guidelines and best practices for iOS development.
9. Mobile Payment Solutions. Experience building payment solutions on the iOS platform is a plus.
10. Technical Communication Skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
11. Collaboration & Leadership. Proven ability to work in a collaborative environment and lead discussions related to technical solutions, code reviews, and architectural decisions.
